Joan M. Gullickson

Verona - Joan M. Gullickson, age 66, passed away on April 2, 2013 at Badger Prairie Health Care Center after a brief battle with cancer.

Joan was born Jan. 13, 1947, in Madison, WI, the daughter of Robert and Rose Faltersack. After graduating from Sun Prairie High School, Joan married Dennis Gullickson and raised their three children, first residing in Sun Prairie, then McFarland. Joan enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, as well as her dogs that were her companions throughout her life. Joan enjoyed volunteering at Three Gaits in Stoughton where her daughter Samantha loved to ride horses and spend time with the other riders and instructors. Joan worked in the family businesses for several years (Midway Foods & Pizza Barn).

Joan spent her last years in nursing homes due to complications from a massive stroke in 2007. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful caregivers at Badger Prairie Health Care Center, along with an amazing friend, Jane Leiss, for the friendship and care they have shared with Joan these last years.

She is survived by children, Mark(Dena) of Madison,WI and Jeff(Jennifer) and grandchildren Mackenzie, Caleb, and Sidney Gullickson of Woodbury, MN, her sister- in-law Bernice Faltersack, and former husband Dennis Gullickson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Faltersack, Jr. and her daughter, Samantha.

A private memorial service is being planned for her funeral to be held at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona.
