Madison/Middleton/New Berlin – JoAnne M. McCormick, age 79, loving wife, proud grandmother, wonderful mother, tireless volunteer and dear friend died suddenly, but not unexpectedly, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital on Saturday, April 6.
She was born in Madison, the daughter of Wilfred and Bernadine (Mackesey) Handel. She was preceded in death by her dearly loved husband, Kenneth.
She is survived by her sons Kenneth III (Ann) and William (Marlo) of New Berlin, beloved grandchildren, Patrick, Meg, Kate, Molly, Macy, and Will, her brothers, Wilfred (Joan) Handel of Fort Meyers, FL and David (Carol) Handel of Shiloh, IL, two nieces, Ann Krug and Jane Carpenter, and a nephew, Fred Carpenter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Hannah (Fred) Carpenter, and nephew, Christopher Handel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Dr, Madison, on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m with Father John Nellissery presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Wednesday. Interment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery
