IONIA,IA/LODI – Jeanine Helena Buchanan, age 58, of Ionia, IA, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Covenant Hospital in Waterloo, IA.

Jeanine was born September 18, 1954 to Arthur and Darlene (Hawley) Paske of Rio, WI. She married Dale Buchanan May 8, 1971 and mutually agreed on divorce in November of 1984. She resided in Portage, WI for many years before moving to Iowa. She resided with her dear friend Jerry Carpenter the last twelve years of her life. She was a homemaker who never complained and enjoyed a simple way of life. She always sent out greeting cards to family for every holiday. She cared so much that she even made them up in advance so she didn’t forget

Survivors include her companion, Jerry Carpenter of Ionia, IA; two sons, David Buchanan of Stoughton, WI and Darwin Buchanan of Waterloo, WI; three grandsons, Zachary, Jacob and Ethan; ex-husband, Dale Buchanan of Dane, WI; step-mother, Edith Paske of Madison, WI. She is also survived by three brothers, Vernon Paske and family of Lodi, WI, Steve Paske and family of Fort Atkinson, WI and Allen Paske and family of St. Cloud, FL plus many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews across the country. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; sisters, Linda Paske (infant), Diane Barger and Sharon Rowely.

We would like to thank Chickasaw County health aide service workers Teri and Cindy, the staff at Ravenwood nursing and rehab and the ICU staff at Covenant Hospital for all they did to help Jeanine thru this difficult time.

A memorial service will be held in Lodi, WI this spring to celebrate her life and all the lives she has touched. She will be missed greatly as she had an impact on so many lives
