Did you succeed in last year’s New Year’s resolution and lost a bunch of weight? If you have excess skin in your mid-section from your weight loss a tummy tuck might be an option for you.

A tummy tuck, also called an abdominoplasty, removes excess skin and fat. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, it can also restore weak or separated muscles.

Sometimes exercise alone can’t fix a loose or sagging abdomen, which can occur as a result of pregnancy, aging or a large weight loss.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, ideal candidates for a tummy tuck include those who are at a healthy and stable weight, those who have realistic expectations, and those who do not smoke.
