TOWN OF BURKE, Wis. -

A Dane County board member believes homeless camped out in Token Creek Park should get to chance to stay there a little longer.

Dave Wiganowsky is the district 21 supervisor, whose area includes Token Creek Park.

He plans to ask the board to lengthen their 90-day permit to May 1. Wiganowsky said moving the camp again isn't the answer.

"Now they want to talk about moving them again, well where they going to dump them?" said Wiganowsky. "In another situation where we're going create another problem? Instead of working on solving the situation, we're just going to keep passing it around."

Wiganowsky will introduce his proposal to extend the permit at Thursday night's meeting, but he's not sure whether other board members will support it.
