JANESVILLE---Elinor L. "Elli" (Munger) Olmstead, age 75, of Janesville, went to be with her blessed Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center. She was born in Janesville on March 6, 1938, the daughter of Richard R. and Blanche L. (Finch) Munger. Elli graduated from Janesville High School in 1956 and Michael Reese Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago in 1960, and spent 52 years serving others as an RN, enjoying every aspect of the different fields. It was due to poor health and vision that she reluctantly had to retire in December of 2012. She married Duane E. Olmstead on July 16, 1960, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. "There was a never a more special and precious man a girl could ever have."

Their union was blessed with 4 daughters: Laura (Bruce) Langholff of Watertown, Julie (Steve) Bushaw of Janesville, Amy (Gary) Durler of Greenfield, and Jennifer Olmstead of Janesville. Their family enjoyed camping, fishing, travelling to the Rockies, and most of all going to church together as a family. Christ was our Rock when times got tough. She had so many happy memories. Elli spent her spare time quilting, walking her mile on the treadmill, more quilting, and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of the Rock Valley Quilters Guild (Sew'n Sews). As well as Elli and Duane were very active in the Badger Chordhawks. Also, she was blessed with 5 grandchildren: Ryan Bushaw, Alyssa (Will) Shire, Collin Durler, Aaron Durler, and Eve Langholff; and 2 great grandchildren due in June.

Elli is also survived by her sister, Susan (William) Gibson of Beloit; sister-in-law, Doris Zimmermann; as well as many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a sister, Patricia (Ken) Lindaas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at ST. JOHN VIANNEY CATHOLIC CHURCH with Fr. Randy Timmerman officiating. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will take place on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, Janesville.

We would like to thank all the wonderful Doctors, Nurses, and staff for the care to our mom, especially Dr. Nader Honarkhah and Dr. Robert Cook.

What made Elli a very special mother, grandmother, sister and friend was her gift of listening.

"I love you moreā€¦"--Elli
