Edwin F. Haack

MIDDLETON-Edwin F. Haack, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born on November 15, 1919 in Fitchburg, the son of Fred and Louise (Warner) Haack. On January 1, 1942, Edwin was united in marriage to June Bilse in German Valley. She preceded him in death on July 7, 1991. He then married Mary Valentine on August 27, 1994 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Middleton. Edwin was a veteran of World War II having proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant with the United States Army in the 127th Infantry Red Arrow Division. After his discharge, he farmed on the family farm before joining the Mt. Horeb Police Department in 1958 and the Middleton Police Department in 1964, then retiring from the Middleton Parks Department. Edwin had a variety of interests including horseshoes, softball, bowling, fishing, and Ho-Chunk Casino but truly treasured most the time spent with his family. He was a founder of the Middleton Baseball Commission in 1964, a member of the Wm. “Sonny” Simon VFW Post 8216 and of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, and always thought he was a winner of Publisher’s Clearing House.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Stan (Pat), JoAnn (Jim) Willey, Fred (Alice), Karen (Dave) Hellenbrand, Cal (Donna), Roger (Marlene), LuAnn (Tom) White, Dale (Cathy); his step-children, Keith (Kay) Anderson, Greg (Gail) Anderson, Antoinette Valentine; grandchildren, Wes (Debbie), Nancy (Mike), Ann (Kermit), Bret (Kelli), Heidi (Jeff), Randy, Rich (Tammy), Kelly (Brad), Shanna (Todd), Amanda (Ryan), Amber, Kurt (Tracy), Kim (Dean), Corey (Amy), Holly (Michael),Ryan (Julie), Bill, Joey, Ben, Becky (Gary), Jason (Stacy), Danny (Alison), Liz (Manuel); step-grandchildren, Allen, Jeff (Susan), Scott, Jaime, Erik (Alahna), Brian, Jennifer, Brittany (Will); 49 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Etheridge and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife June, a daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne (Bill) Friedli, a son Edwin, two brothers, Arnold and Leo and a sister Florence.

Funeral services will be held at ST. LUKE’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7337 Hubbard Ave., Middleton at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 8, 2013 with the Reverend Heather Lampert presiding. Burial will be in German Valley Cemetery, Mount Horeb. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, April 7, 2013 and also on Monday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Nemovitz , Nurse Roy, the VA Interim Health Care, Bright Star, Wisconsin Dialysis Center, Agrace HospiceCare and the pastors of St. Luke’s. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church or Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711.

I enjoyed our wonderful 18 years Eddie, love Mary.

We will miss our loving father Ed very much. We thank God for all the beautiful years we have had with him. We love you Dad. You will be in our thoughts and prayers always.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church or Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711.

Visitation:
Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, April 7, 2013 and also on Monday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.

Service:

Cemetery:
