Doris Fairbrother

Doris Fairbrother, 90, of Richland Center died Wednesday, January 17, 2013 at the Richland Hospital. She was born July 25, 1922 Hillsboro the daughter of John E. and Albina (Plachetka) Johnson. Doris was united in marriage to Merwin Fairbrother on April 12, 1947 at the Greenwood Lutheran Church by Reverend A.M. Rusten. The couple farmed together on the Fairbrother family farm for nearly 50 years. Doris enjoyed flowers, gardening, visiting with her rural neighbors, spoiling her grandchildren and in later years after she moved to town, she enjoyed reading books, and watching the Green Bay Packer.

Doris is survived by two sons: Steve (Martha) Fairbrother of Richland Center, Rick (Karen) Fairbrother of Richland Center, four granddaughters: Mary Fairbrother, Stephanie (Jason) Miller, Suzie Nichols, Bonnie (Jon) Hansen, eight great-grandchildren, one brother: Melvin Johnson of Mauston, one sister: Camilla Johnson of Richland Center, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents John and Albina, husband Merwin, siblings: Gladys Ferguson, Ethelyn Kershner, Lucille Anderson, Floyd Johnson, Bernard Johnson, and Leonard Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Richland Center with Pastor Frederick Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in the Richland Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM and again on Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. Luke Lutheran Church from 10:00AM until the time of the service at 11:00AM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service of Richland Center is assisting the family with their arrangements. Online condolences can be made at prattfuneralservice.com.
