Donna M. Henry

MONONA-Donna M. Henry, age 88, formerly of Oregon, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, in Madison. She was born on May 3, 1924, in St. Cloud, Minn., the daughter of John and Margaret (O’Rourke) Hannig. She married Lee Henry on Dec. 30, 1946, in St. Cloud, Minn. Donna was a stay at home mom, while her kids were in their younger years. Later, when they were in school she took a variety of part-time positions in downtown Oregon. Donna was very family orientated and loved to bake for others and her family. She was an avid fan of the Brewers, Arizona Wildcats, and UW-Madison basketball. Donna and her husband Lee, loved to dance to big band music. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church since 2008. During her time in Oregon, she was also a member of Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church. Donna had a soft spot for all animals, especially dogs. She loved all of her dogs and her grand dogs.

Donna is survived by her husband of 66 years, Lee; daughters, Carole Leifer, Colleen LeBlanc, Mary (Al) Henry –Chiozzi; two grandchildren, Christopher (Holly) Leifer and Kristin Leifer; and brother, Richard (Jan) Hannig. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gary; and brother, Donald. A Memorial Mass will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass on Thursday. Memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

A special thank you to Meriter Hospital, Capitol Lakes Health Center, and the staff at Agrace HospiceCare who cared for Donna.
