Subject of Fitchburg domestic incident found in Madison

FITCHBURG, Wis -

Fitchburg police evacuated residents near the scene of a domestic incident and later found the subject of the incident at a Madison address.

The incident began around midnight Thursday the 2300 block of Chalet Garden Road in Fitchburg. Fitchburg police Lt. Chad Brecklin said the call started as a domestic incident between a man and a woman. The woman was safely removed from the situation.

Fitchburg police said weapons were involved, but no injuries were reported.

After 8 a.m., Madison police closed Park Edge Drive at Gammon Lane in Madison and took the man who was the subject of the Fitchburg standoff into custody.

Madison police said the man was with a woman and the man was uncooperative but eventually came out.

The road was reopened in less than an hour and the roads around the Fitchburg incident shortly thereafter.
