The victim of a home burglary gave police a description that helped officers find a suspect blocks away from the crime scene, according to Madison police.

The 46-year-old victim told police she was inside her home in the 2500 block Rae Lane Monday morning when the doorbell rang. She said she ignored it because she wasn’t expecting anyone. She said she then heard a burglar break out a window in the rear of the house.

The burglar ran when he realized someone was home but not before the victim could get a good look.

A police dog was used to find a suspect a couple of blocks away.

Jonathan M. Glenzer-Brown, 23, of Madison, was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
