DeForest defeats LaFollette in soccer opener

DEFOREST -

The girls high school soccer season got its start Thursday night as DeForest defeated Madison LaFollette 2-0 in a non-conference game in DeForest.

Neither team scored until the 59th minute when DeForest's Erin Renze scored to put the Norskies ahead 1-0.

DeForest goalkeeper Hannah Schultz earned the shutout as the Norskies of the Badger Conference won their opener against their rivals from the Big Eight Conference.
