MADISON -

The Badger men's hockey team returned to the Alliant Energy Center Coliseum Friday night and came away with a 4-2 defeat at the hands of St. Cloud State.

With the game tied at 2 in the third period, St. Cloud's Nick Jensen skated down the right side and fired a shot from a tough angle at the goal line that got past Badger goaltender Joel Rumpel for the game winner.

Joseph LaBate and Tyler Barnes scored the goals for Wisconsin.

In Minneapolis, North Dakota defeated the Badger women's hockey team 2-1 in the semifinals of the WCHA Final Face-Off.

North Dakota took a 2-nothing lead on goals by Ashley Furia and Jocelyn Lamoreaux.

Wisconsin's only goal came with 3:43 remaining in the third period when Erika Sowchuk scored on a pass from Lauren Unser.

Wisconsin's season record is now 23-10-2 and the Badgers hope for and NCAA tournament at large bid when the selections are released Sunday afternoon.
