Berttina Dieter

MADISON – Berttina Dieter, age 70, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 after a long battle with kidney disease. Tina was born on July 9, 1942 in Chicago, IL to Banks and Bertha (McNeil) Boswell. Berttina lived in Chicago until she married Virgil Dieter and moved to Madison, WI. Tina worked at the South Madison Neighborhood Center helping seniors with crafts and going on outings and also at the food pantry serving many families in the community. In 2000 Berttina moved to Monroe and worked at the D.M.V. until she retired. Tina was very outgoing with an extreme zest for life and was always known to light up a room. Berttina was always known for showing the immense love she had for those around her. She loved her cats, knitting, painting and crafts but most of all spending time with her family and friends.

Tina is survived by children, Anna, Pat (Carol), Joe (Kathren), Sue and Virginia (Joe) Ray; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dreena (Donnell) Parks, Andre (Myra) Boswell and Jeffery Boswell. Further survived by numerous extended family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Virgil; parents Banks and Bertha Boswell; and brother Hamilton Boswell.

A Memorial service will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, at noon on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00AM until the time of the service on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to family of Berttina Dieter.
