Green Bay, WI -

The Barneveld girls spent the week leading up to the State Tournament practicing against the Barneveld boys basketball team. The bigger, faster, stronger boys prepared the Lady Eagles well, as they got a 54-45 win over South Shore in the Division Five State Semifinals.

The Eagles came out with a lead and built on it throughout the game. Freshman Hannah Whitish hit three threes and had 11 points in the win. Sophomore Rachel Slaney led the Eagles with 15 points, while senior Madi Laube had 10.

The Eagles face Assumption in the D5 State Final on Saturday. Assumption is the only team to beat the 25-1 Eagles this season. Tip off at the Resch Center is set for 11:05 a.m.
