MADISON -

Montee Ball improved his 40-yard dash time by two-tenths of a second from the NFL Combine as he impressed NFL scouts at Wisconsin's Pro Day in Madison on Wednesday.

Ball ran a disappointing 4.66 at the combine in Indianapolis, but says he had a sinus infection that really affected his performance.

In front of scouts from a dozen NFL teams Wednesday, Ball ran two 40-yard dashes in times of 4.53 and 4.46.

Ball says "I really had my mind set on the 40 but also just to show them up close and personal that I can play football - I can cut, I can hit the cones and I can catch the football."

Other former Badgers participating in Pro Day were Travis Frederick, Ricky Wagner, Shelton Johnson, Marcus Cromartie and Devin Smith.  Mike Taylor is recovering from sports hernia surgery and talked with scouts, but did not participate in drills.

Packers General Manager Ted Thompson was also in attendance and had a conversation with Ball after his workout at the McClain Indoor Facility.
