Badgers begin final week of spring football

MADISON -

The Wisconsin Badger football team began its final week of spring practice Monday with a scrimmage open to the public at Camp Randall Stadium.

UW students enjoyed free pizza despite a steady rain as they had their second chance to watch the Badgers practice this spring.

The annual Spring Game is Saturday afternoon at 4 pm at Camp Randall, and head coach Gary Andersen says he's hoping for a big crowd.

"I'd love to have 80 or 90 thousand. That'd be perfect. It will be awesome, however many people come out there. I think what's important is the fans that do come, there's a lot to do. Hopefully, it will be a good spring day and it'll be great to see everyone come out," Andersen said.

The Badgers will try to have the Spring Game look like a game as much as possible. Andersen says he'll even adjust the scoring on the fly to make it a close, competitive game.
