SHULLSBURG, Wis. -

Authorities executing a search warrant at a Shullsburg home uncovered a meth lab and arrested a man Monday, the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office said.

Lafayette County sheriff's deputies, Shullsburg police and members of the Clandestine Lab Enforcement and Response Team executed a search warrant at about 5:30 p.m. at a home located at 221 W. Water St. in the city of Shullsburg.

Sheriff's officials said the search revealed evidence of a suspected red phosphorous methamphetamine lab that had been in operation on multiple occasions at the home.

Evidence of illicit drug distribution was also discovered within the home, according to a Lafayette County Sheriff's Office news release.

Robert F. Gundry, 59, who lives at the address, was taken into custody at the home, sheriff's officials said.

Gundry is tentatively charged with the following felonies: manufacturing methamphetamine, possessing materials for manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine manufacturing-waste and maintaining a drug dwelling, according to the release.

The matter will be referred to the Lafayette County district attorney for review and final charging decisions.

Gundry is being held in the Lafayette County Jail pending an initial court appearance.

A hazardous material cleanup company also responded to deal with the collection of hazardous waste located at the home.

The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office said the investigation is continuing. Sheriff's officials said additional suspects have been identified and are being sought for their involvement in the illicit drug manufacturing and distribution investigation.

The Clandestine Lab Enforcement and Response Team is made up of officers from: Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, Prairie du Chien police, the Columbia County Sheriff's Office and the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office.
