LACROSSE, Wis. -

Aquinas High School guard Bronson Koenig, fresh off leading the Blugolds to their second state title in three years, has been voted Wisconsin Associated Press boys basketball player of the year.

Koenig's coach, Rick Schneider, was named coach of the year in a vote by statewide media members.

Koenig, a University of Wisconsin recruit, bounced back from a thumb injury that cost him most of his junior year to average nearly 17 points and 4.4 assists per game.

He was joined on the first time by Germantown senior Luke Fischer, Milwaukee Hamilton junior Kevon Looney, Onalaska senior Matt Thomas and Whitefish Bay Dominican senior Duane Wilson.
