A Janesville man was arrested for his fourth operating while intoxicated charge Saturday night after crashing his vehicle into a tree, according to a release.
Janesville police were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on East Milwaukee Street near South Martin Road around 8:50 p.m., officials said.
Investigators said a Jeep Cherokee driven by Michael Brockmann, 50, was westbound on East Milwaukee Street when the driver lost control, according to the release. The vehicle spun several times on the slippery pavement, and hit a tree on the terrace on the north side of the road.
Officers smelled intoxicants coming from Brockmann, who then admitted to drinking alcohol, officials said. Standard field sobriety tests were administered and Brockmann was found to be impaired.
Brockmann was arrested for his fourth-offense OWI with a preliminary breath test blood alcohol content of 0.14 percent. He was also cited for driving too fast for conditions.
