VILLAGE OF BLUE MOUNDS, Wis. -

Police said a man and a boy were both in custody Friday night after a report of a domestic disturbance involving a knife in Blue Mounds.

The Blue Mounds Police Department said officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Mounds View Road at 5:24 p.m. The report indicated someone was being held at knife point and the victim was being advised not to provide information to dispatchers.

Blue Mounds police Chief Andrew Rose said officers found a suspect who "was resisting and failing to obey lawful orders." With the help of Mt. Horeb police, officers took a 12-year-old boy into custody.

About 20 minutes later, a Dane County SHeriff's deputy and two Mt. Horeb officers found another person who told police he was armed with a knife, Rose said.

The man attempted to flee after he was handcuffed and injured himself while running, according to the report. The man was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

Multiple knives were seized from the home, police said.

The 12-year-old was taken to Dane County Juvenile Reception and held on charges of recklessly endangering safety, disorderly conduct while armed and resisting arrest, according to the report.

The man in custody was taken to the Dane County Jail on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, police said.

Police did not indicate the age of the man in custody but specified he was an adult. It wasn't clear if the boy and the man knew each other.
