Jordyn Wieber burst onto the senior-elite gymnastics scene in 2011 when she won the U.S. and world all-around titles. Wieber's crowns were the culmination of years or hard work.
Wieber started gymnastics when she was about 4 during a recreational class.
The Michigan native is coached by John and Kathryn Geddert.
As a junior standout Wieber won the 2008 U.S. junior all-around title.
Wieber made her senior international debut at the 2011 American Cup. There, the young American defeated the reigning world champion, Russian Aliya Mustafina.
In her senior nationals debut in 2011, Wieber claimed the U.S. all-around title. She defeated her competition by more than six points.
Wieber also won the floor and uneven bars titles at the 2011 nationals.
After winning the U.S. title, Wieber set her sights on the 2011 World Championships.
At the 2011 World Championships, Wieber claimed the all-around gold and also helped Team USA to the team title.
The reigning world champion has another gold medal in her sights now -- an Olympic gold.
