What is your favorite part about living in Madison?

I love the Badgers.  I’m a proud UW graduate and I love the downtown, State Street, campus area.  I love taking my kid to the Memorial Union for ice cream.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to spend as much time as possible with my kids, Madeleine and Ethan, and I like to run! 

What is your favorite kind of ice cream?

I like vanilla ice cream with as much chocolate sauce as possible. 

What is your favorite place to vacation?

I went to Maui as a teenager.  I need to go back as a grown-up, plans to be determined.

Who is your hero and why?

My parents are, for teaching me to work hard and tell the truth and parent my own kids well.

What is your favorite sport to play or watch?

I love to watch football, Badgers and Packers.  I love to run whenever I can.

If you could possess one superhuman power, what would it be?

To cure cancer.

What are you really bad at that you’d love to be great at?

Singing.

What is your most memorable travel experience?

Backpacking through Europe with my best friend after college.

What is the worst job you have ever had?

Stuffing envelopes in a closet for a temp agency.

Who would you most like to interview alive or dead, and why?

My grandmothers. I never met either of them.

What is your favorite tradition around the holidays?

Watching my children open their Christmas presents.

What is your favorite song of all time?

It changes all the time.

What is your favorite book of all time?

The Giving Tree.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Always tell the truth.

If you could relive any moment…what would that be?

I haven’t lived it yet, to be determined.

Where were you when September 11, 2001 occurred?

Sitting on the news desk at a competing station in Madison, watched the second plane hit live.
