What is your favorite part about living in Madison?

I love the change of seasons and all of the fun events that are continuously happening in our area.

What is the biggest news story that you've covered?

The Stoughton Tornado.  It occurred the day I returned from my honeymoon.  Gary Cannalte and I covered it together, and it was unlike any other severe weather outbreak I have covered.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to relax, spend time with family and friends, camp, read, cook, garden, and do anything that allows me to be outside enjoying the elements.

What is your family life like? Significant other, married, children?

I am married and have two children.

What is your favorite kind of ice cream?

Coconut or plain old vanilla (with some great toppings of course!)

What is your favorite place to vacation?

Anywhere that’s relaxing or adventurous or that I can experience new and different cultures.

What are you really bad at that you’d love to be great at?

Singing

What is your favorite sport to play or watch?

Any Wisconsin Badger games, and figure skating.

If you could possess one superhuman power, what would it be?

Teleportation.

What is your most memorable travel experience?

Backpacking through the Yucatan of Mexico with my sister…we stayed in hostels along the way and it was very rustic!

What is the worst job you have ever had?

Babysitting for a set of twins who would shoot me with marbles out of a sling shot.

What is your favorite tradition around the holidays?

Being with family and eating lots of Scandinavian cookies!

What is your favorite movie of all time?

I have a few…Singin’ in the Rain, The Sound of Music, and Pride and Prejudice.

What is your favorite book of all time?

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen or Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Illegitimi non carborundum. It’s Latin, and you can look up what it means.

If you could relive any moment, what would that be?

My wedding or meeting my kids for the first time.

Where were you when Sept. 11, 2001, occurred?

Wausau, WI.  It was my first day off of work in several weeks, so I slept in that morning.  I woke up to find out the world had changed.
