Wallace Logan Beatty

Wallace Logan Beatty, 86, of Black Earth passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. He was born February 19, 1927 in Richland Center the son of Logan and Mary (Chesemore) Beatty.

He served in Army serving in Korea from 1951-1953. Wallace married Iola Jean Pine on November 27, 1954 in Richland Center. He worked at Gilson’s Medical Electronics in Middleton. Wallace enjoyed puzzles, sports, woodworking, science fiction especially Star Trek, high school basketball, sweets, collectibles, games, and drive around. He had a great sense of humor but was a quiet man. Over the last few years Wallace was able to stay at home because of the care provided by his son Randy.

Wallace is survived by his three children: Joy (Anthony) Hill of Black Earth, Randy Beatty of Black Earth, Heidi Beatty of Madison; three grandchildren: Cassie Hill, Logan and Karsten Beatty; brothers and sisters: Barb DeVault, Pat Clark, Kate Banta, Steve Beatty; sister-in-law, Naomi Beatty; special niece, Mary Beth Draper; brother-in-law, Kenneth Pine; friend, Kathy Kreutzer; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Wallace was preceded in death by his wife Iola, parents Logan and Mary, brothers Pete, Kenny, Dyle, John Beatty, sisters, Ariel Wagner, Shirley Beckwith, Valda Jordan, Alice Peckham, special family pets Sylvia and Maggie Mae.

Funeral service will be Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 12:00 PM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel, 120 N. Park St., Richland Center with burial to follow in the Richland Center Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Local Military Memorial Honor Unit. Friends may call at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM. The family suggests memorials in Wallace’s name be given to the American Lung Association.
