Tammy L. Shaffer, 53, of Platteville, formerly of Dubuque, died on Thursday, April 03, 2014, at her home.

Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until the time of her service at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Deacon Bill Bussan will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Tammy L. Shaffer Memorial Fund.

Tammy was born on October 18, 1960 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of LeRoy and Mary Lorraine (Lynch) Mess. She was married to Russ Shaffer on May 9, 1992. Tammy worked at the Dubuque Pack and AMF in Dubuque and later at Farber Bag, Peosta. She currently has been working as a care taker. She enjoyed WWE, NASCAR, and the Packers. She liked to do crafting especially making jewelry out of beads.

Tammy loved her five grandchildren, Chloe, Billie Jean, Gracie, Kinley, and Kaden and also her dog, “Baby Girl”. Tammy is also survived by her two sons, Lee (Amber Droessler) Shaffer of Platteville; Jay (Jennifer Sadler) Mess of Dubuque; brothers, Tim Mess of Dubuque; Terry Mess of Rochester, MN; step-father, Jerry “Pops” Westemeyer of Dubuque; best friend, Cindy (Darryl) Galle of Farley, IA and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
