Mark B. Greimel

Mark B. Greimel, age 59, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 as the result of an automobile accident.

He was born in Baraboo on March 7, 1954 to John and Marilyn (Jones) Greimel. Mark graduated from Sauk Prairie High School, class of 1972. Mark was a journeyman plumber and a member of Plumbers Local Union 167 and worked for Pertzborn Plumbing for many years. Mark was an Army National Guard veteran and was proud to have served his country during Desert Storm as an X-Ray Specialist in the 13th Evac. Hospital, where earned three bronze stars. He earned many other ribbons and medals but cherished the friends he made the most. He had a passion for genealogy and the history surrounding Sauk County and the Wisconsin River area. Mark enjoyed traveling around Mexico and the US and made friends wherever he went. He loved to laugh and visit friends and family, enjoyed many types of music (especially on vinyl), buying and selling antiques, and had a deep appreciation and respect for nature. He was a loving and dedicated father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his children, Casey (Neil) Rowe, Vincenti Greimel; 3 grandchildren, Ari, Ava, and Ezra; his mother Marilyn (John Hoelzlhammer) Greimel; twin brother, Michael; sister, Jennifer (Doug) Gjertson; uncle Doug (Sheryl) Jones; nieces, Sommer (Darryl Berney) Von Behren, Kristin (Cody Swanson) Greimel; and nephews Matthew and Tyler Greimel. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father John; brother, Mitchell; and aunt Marie Theisen.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at Garden Bluff Cemetery on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 12:30 pm for family and friends who wish to attend. Please join Mark's family for a Celebration of Life gathering at the Dorf Haus in Roxbury at 2:00 pm to share stories, memories, laughter, and love.
