James E. Doyle

Madison: James E. Doyle, III passed away Sunday evening, Sept 22,

He was born on July 14, 1932 to James and Odelia (Gericke) Doyle in Madison, WI. After graduating from Edgewood High School in 1950, he joined the U.S.Army and served in Korea. When he returned, he started working for the City of Madison, retiring after 38 years. He married Bonita (Bonnie) Meier on Sept. 8, 1956. Together they raised 6 children, Mary, Jim (Cathy), Dan (friend, Rachel), John (Teri), Joe and Jane. They were blessed with 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandsons. Jim and Bonnie spent their 57th wedding anniversary at the U.W. Hospital where Jim was a patient.

Jim played city league softball for many years. The last team he was on was the Village Bar Team. He also bowled in a league for many years. In the 1970's he and his sons were involved with the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps.

Jim is survived by his wife; 6 children; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a beloved grandson, James E. Doyle V.

The family wishes to thank the Doctors and Nurses at the TLC unit at U.W. Hospital for their exceptional care and support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013 at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Avenue, with Father Mike Miller presiding. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Madison.
