Gordon Richard Culver

Gordon Richard Culver, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease.

He was born in Lone Rock on July 19, 1932, the son of the late Ren and Grace (Keepers) Culver. Gordon graduated from Lone Rock High School. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Kay Lind.

Gordon worked as a tool and die machinist, along with running the Bridge Inn Tavern, and later the Spot Bar. He and Kay owned and operated the Waterfront Restaurant and Riverview Ballroom for many years and also Gordon's Drive-In in Mazomanie. He enjoyed playing cribbage and watching the Cubs, Brewers, and Packers.

He is survived by his wife, Kay; four children, Bruce (Nancy) Culver, Debbie (Bob) Ferguson, Jolene (Leon) Herbrand and Brian Culver; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Willis Culver; sister-in-law, Donna Nichols; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Trumble and Duane Culver; two infant sisters; sister-in-law, Judy Culver; brothers-in-law, Ron Nichols and Jack Lind; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mark and Della Lind.

A Memorial Service will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, 251 Water St., Sauk City, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday. Interment will be at a later date in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery.
