Dean Emil Riechers, 88, of Darlington formerly of Belmont died on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Lafayette Manor, Darlington.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church, Darlington. Private family burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family.

Dean Emil Riechers was born on August 5, 1925 sixth son of Emil J. and Ada Louise (Wise) Riechers in Platteville, Wisconsin. Dean was the second born of twins, his brother, Donald Frank being the older. Dean graduated from Platteville High School in 1944. He followed in his father’s footsteps and attended the Ag short course at UW Madison. He served in the Wisconsin National Guard during WW II. He was ready and willing to go if the Army called upon him. He was united in marriage to Joyce Edward in 1948. They farmed on the Riechers family farm near Belmont, Wisconsin, where they raised their three children.

Dean is survived by his wife, W. Joyce Riechers of Darlington; daughter, Rita Johnson; son, Ray Riechers; daughter-in-law, Carla (Tom) Juergens; four grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson, Jason Johnson, Danielle (Jim) Bockenstedt, and Melissa Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Nic Hill, Atlanta Wilson, Jamie Wilson, and Alexis Riechers; twin brother, Donald (Wanda) Riechers; sister, Margaret Graves; sister-in-law, Lorraine Riechers and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Ada Riechers, two sons, Roy Royce and David Dean Riechers, son-in-law, Eugene Johnson, brothers, Robert, Douglas, Guerdon, Leo and William Riechers, brother-in-law, Arnold Graves, and sister-in-law, Betty Riechers.
