Culver Allen Johnson

Culver Allen Johnson, 72 of Blue River died December 2, 2013 at the Richland Center Hospital after a long illness.

Culver was born and raised near Richland Center, Wisconsin and graduated from Richland Center High School in 1959. He entered military service in 1963 in the United States Army, served at Fort Lewis, Washington, and was honorably discharged in 1965. Culver resided for many years in Kenosha, Wisconsin and was employed by American Motors and the City of Kenosha. He retired in 1999 and relocated to Blue River, Wisconsin where he lived until his passing. He was active in the American Legion, 40 et 8, the Lions Club, and the boards of the Town of Blue River, and the Five Points Lutheran Church. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, river and lake fishing, and motorcycling.

Culver was preceded in death by his parents, Gilman and Ruby Johnson, his brother, Dennis Johnson, and his sister Sonja Mason.

Culver is survived by; One daughter, Kim Hovenga of Mesa, Arizona, one grandson, Hunter, and one granddaughter, Tyger of Summerville, South Carolina. Five brothers; Dallas (Judy Johnson) of Richland Center, Charlie (Sandi) Johnson of Blue River, Dean (Becky) Johnson of Sauk City, Kevin (Debbie) Johnson of Sun City, Arizona, and Carl (Judy) Johnson of Midland, Georgia; Two sisters: Rita (Bill) Olson of Soldiers Grove, and Renee Wenger of Dodgeville, sister-in-law: Linda Johnson of San Luis Obispo, California; two aunts and an uncle, Mabel Sherry of Viroqua, Leonard and Odessa Johnson of Moscow, Idaho, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Five Points Lutheran Church with Pastor Larry Engel officiating. Burial will follow in the Five Points Cemetery with military rites being provided by the Blue River American Legion Post 443 and the 40et8. Friends may call at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 4:00 PM-7:00PM and again on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Five Points Lutheran Church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. The family suggests memorial in Culver’s name be directed to the Five Points Lutheran Church.

The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
