MADISON – Maria Kuehn, age 87, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013 at Agrace Hospice. Maria was born on January 13, 1926 in Mitrovica, Serbia. She immigrated from Germany to Chicago, IL in 1963 and lived there until 1992 when she moved to Madison, WI. Maria was a nurse in WWII, where she met her husband, Gerhard while caring for him after being wounded in combat. She loved gardening, cooking, being a grandmother “Oma” and great-grandmother.

Maria is survived by grandchildren, Justin (Amy) Kuehn and Joseph (Kathryn) Kuehn; great- grandson, Jacen Kuehn; sister, Nada Syrnyk; niece, Irene Syrnyk. Preceded in death by her husband, Gerhard and son, Jerry.
